The Booing of Beltran Must Stop!
Well I've been reading the NY Dailynews on the internet and I am shocked at the complete stupidity of some of the people at Shea. Now one thing you'll learn about me from this blog is that I don't play around with words. I'm rather blunt. As such, I'm calling these so called fans out right now. I know exactly who these people are. They are the same people who are "die hard Yankee fans" throughout their championship run but wouldn't know a damn thing about Mattingly. They are the same fans that seemed to disappear when Mo Vaughn played 1st base or when Rico Brogna was a shining star for the Mets back in 1994 through 1996. The point here is that these are the worst type of fan, band wagon, idiots. There are more in NYC than in any city I have ever lived in, and it's sad. These people usually have no context with history nor facts. They are generally negative, mean spirited, and find a reason to boo almost everything. They are the same type of fan that will hate Bobby Valentine, then Art Howe, then Randolph all for different reasons which seem to contradict each other. I know these people well from the internet and in person. In fact, when I visited my parents and went to Shea last year, I actually encountered one of these fans who booed of all people, Mike Piazza! His reasoning was that Mike should have hit the ball, (easier said than done) when I asked how many games he goes to Shea usually, his statement was that when ever they win. Nice. In other words, he has no roots and no idea what he is talking about. The same can be said for those that boo Beltran. The man had a bad day at the plate (along with a lot of stars yesterday throughout baseball), but made a great play to end the game. He of course gets no credit for that. This needs to end.
