Well, at least Zambrano didn't hit anybody. Tonight was a VERY bad night for the Mets. Coming into the game missing Beltran and Floyd, the Mets offense was already in a whole, but I didn't see this coming. Zambrano got to the 5th inning and was seriously roughed up by A. Jones. Seriously, the pitching by Zambrano was just totally pathetic at best, and I'm leaning towards bringing Maine up and send Zambrano far, far away. Meanwhile, Valintin was just as equally as pathetic as he went 0 for 3 with a strike out, a fly out, and a DP ground out.
However, there was some bright spots. First, Feliciano had a solid 3 innings with 2 strike outs and one walk. Feliciano makes this bullpen even stronger than before. Even more encouraging was the continued improvement of Julio! Okay, so there was no pressure and the game was over, but at least Julio had 2 strike outs and no walks! His ERA is now down to 12.71. Perhaps the next outing can get that ERA below double digits! In the end, though, Julio did look more confident. Meanwhile, Woodward was solid off the bench as he had a home run, which was the only Mets run.
So, now the Mets and Braves have a game a piece. The Mets MUST take tomorrow's game to win this series. They win this game and all is right with the world. Glavine versus Hudson at 1 PM! Now THAT is going to be a great game! Hopefully Beltran will be back in time. As everyone can see just how important Beltran is for this whole team.
