Alright!  It's that time we've been waiting for since we swept the Phillies back in May.  The Play offs start on Tuesday, but the Mets get to kick off the fun starting on Wednesday.  Looks like the Dodgers will be coming to Shea with the game starting at 4 PM.

I don't get why the hell the networks would put the Mets versus Dodgers game at 4 PM.  Lets look at the facts, you have the number 1 and number 2 markets facing off in play offs.  So if you are looking for the most ratings, do you put the game at 4 PM with NYers trying to get out of work and Californians stuck with a noon start, or do you do it at 8 PM (4 PM on the left coast) with optimal viewers at least through the last 7 innings.  I'd go with the 8 PM.  I'm sorry, but I don't there are enough viewers in Detroit to counter the amount of people watching in LA.  Oh well, that's ESPN for you.

Anyway, here is how everything brakes down on the last day of the regular season:

Mets VS Dodgers with HFA (home field advantage) going to the Mets.  I predict Mets in 4

Cardinals VS Padres with HFA going to Padres.  I predict Padres in 3.  The Cardinals pitching is horrible and they can't seem to win anymore.

A's VS Twins  with HFA going to the Twins.   This is going to be an interesting series.  I'll go Twins in 5, but it is going to be close

Yankees VS Tigers with HFA to Yankees.  The Tigers are going to push the Yanks to the brink and show how weak that middle relief is, but in the end I don't think the Tigers young staff and Mr. Rogers, can handle the bright lights.  I'll go Yanks in 5.

I'll go more indepth on the Mets series once I know exactly who is pitching for the Dodgers.

A few Post Season predictions before I end.......

1.  Jose Reyes will become a house hold name and stunt the nation with his speed and ability to single handedly change a game.

2. Carlos Beltran will hit a game winning homerun on the road.

3.  John Maine will surprise a lot of the "experts" while Steve Trachsel will pull a Bobby Jones at some point.

4. Zito will up his value with a strong playoff game to clinch the ALDS.

5.  Shefield will make a serious mental mistake at first during some point of the playoffs.  Could be a costly one at that.

6.  The Twins will surprise two afternoon hosts on WFAN in the ALCS.

More to come......
